Brecht, Robert Patrick

Robert Patrick Brecht, 59, of Nelson, B.C., peacefully passed away surrounded by his loved ones, after a difficult battle with cancer.

Rob was born on May 22, 1962 to Gabe and Louise Brecht in Rosetown, SK. Rob attended Broderick Elementary, Outlook Elementary, Leader Elementary and graduated from Delisle High School. After graduation Rob pursued a career in the culinary arts where he worked at various locations throughout Saskatchewan and BC. He loved to cook!

In 1988, Rob met the love of his life, JoAnn Spiers in Saskatoon. It was love at first sight,3 days later Rob and JoAnn moved in together and 5 months later they were married November 24, 1988. Rob and JoAnn went on to have 3 beautiful children, Robert James(R.J.) on June 14, 1989, Anthony(Tony) on January 3, 1991, and Amanda on August 14, 1994.

Rob was predeceased by his daughter Amanda and father Gabe. He is survived by his wife JoAnn, 2 sons R.J. and Tony, and his mother, Louise.  Rob is also remembered by his brothers Doug (Gen), Dave(Carrie), Mike(Joan), and James(Fern), and sisters Bev(Claude) and Janice(George). As well as JoAnn’s mother, Marlene, sisters Melody(Bryan), and Heather, and brother David(Bonnie).  He is also lovingly remembered by all his nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Despite the pain, Rob fought hard, and stayed strong until the end!
