Yasodhara Ashram on Kootenay Lake’s East Shore is celebrating 60 years of offering transformative yoga and so much more.

“The Ashram is here, and people can take it as far as they want to. They can just come for a rest and renew and go home happy, or they can come and make their life here like some of us have, or anywhere in between,” says Yasodhara Ashram President Swami Lalitananda.

The Ashram offers a wide range of programming and aims to be an inclusive place where people can get in touch with the “divine light within.”

Swami Lalitananda says how yoga is practiced at the Ashram is unique.

“Often people think that yoga is just the physical. We do asanas every morning in a class, but it’s also about that spiritual, psychological level of who you are, what you want your life to be, the self-inquiry dial.”

Ashram President Swami Lalitananda welcomes all to experience one of the Ashram’s onsite retreat offerings during its 60th anniversary year.
