The Public Service Alliance of Canada workers entered day two of their strike Thursday against Treasury Board and Canada Revenue Agency.

Members of PSAC from the Nelson office in the Chalko Mika Mall took to the corner of Popular and Front Streets near the Mall sign to picket against the Treasury Board and Canada Revenue Agency.

Workers on the Nelson picket line, one of 250 locations across the country, were in a festive mood as vehicles honked horns in support of the PSAC members.

Strike action began at 12:01 a.m. ET April 19 – setting the stage for one of the largest strikes in Canada’s history.

With nearly a third of the entire federal public service workers on strike, Canadians can expect to see slowdowns or a complete shutdown of services nationwide beginning Wednesday including a complete halt of the tax season; disruptions to employment insurance, immigration, and passport applications; interruptions to supply chains and international trade at ports; and slowdowns at the border with administrative staff on strike.
