Nelson Police dealt with a couple of break and enter calls over the past few days said Sergeant Corey Hoy in a media release Sunday.

Hoy said police was dispatched Thursday (April 21) to the Uphill district of Nelson after the complainant said a male known to him had broken into his house earlier and assaulted him.

“In addition, the male held the complainant against his will and had threatened him,” Hoy said.

Hoy said the man was located by police, arrested and held in custody for upcoming court.

He is charged with break and enter, forcible confinement, assault and uttering threats.

Unlocked door gives easy access to Uphill residence

Saturday (April 23) Nelson Police Department received a call for service regarding a residential break and enter in the Uphill area.

Police said it was determined that unknown person, or persons, gained entry via an unlocked door and took various items from the residence.

“Investigation is ongoing at this time and the Nelson Police Department is asking anyone with information to contact the Nelson Police Department or Crimestoppers,” Hoy said.

Hoy said police would like to remind residents to ensure their vehicles and residences are secure to avoid becoming potential victims of crime.
