LVR Bombers meet Van College to open BC High School Junior Boys Basketball Championships

The L.V. Rogers Bombers face two seed Vancouver College to open the BC High School Junior Boys Basketball Championships at the Langley Events Centre.

The Bombers advanced to the 32-team tournament after the East Kootenay rep from Jaffray forfeited the Kootenay final.

The Bombers defeated Salmo Falcons in the West Kootenay Final to advance to the Kootenay Championship.

The Bombers/Vancouver College game tips off a 1 p.m. Saturday.

Tamanawis of Surrey is the top seed in the tournament. The team meets 32-seed R.E. Mountain of Langley at 10 a.m. to open the tournament.

The winner of the Van College/LVR contest meets Vernon/Elgin Park winner Sunday evening.

Burnaby South, Sullivan Heights of Surrey, Westsyde of Kamloops, Rick Hansen of Abbotsford, Brookswood of Langley, St. Patricks of Vancouver, St. Michael’s University of Victoria and Handsworth of North Vancouver round out the top ten seeds.

In 2022, Salmo Falcons represented the Kootenay Zone.

The final is set for Tuesday evening.
