Freedom Convoy to stage blockade protest at Patterson crossing

Trail RCMP said the Freedom Convoy Kootenay is taking is show to the Patterson Border Crossing Saturday as the local movement is expected to blockade of the Canadian border located at 10 Highway 22, near Rossland from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, February 12, 2022.
“The organizers plan to have a peaceful demonstration and barbeque to protest against current pandemic restrictions,” the RCMP media release said.
“A vehicle lane will be left open for first responders in case of an emergency.”
Trail RCMP and CBSA are both monitoring this event and will work in partnership if there is a need to respond to an incident.
“Both agencies recommend that the public avoid this area during this time and use another local border crossing, if possible,” RCMP said.
