Bombers dump Revelstoke to finish Rutland tourney with win

The L.V. Rogers Bombers completed a three-game swing into the Central Okanagan by posting a win over Revelstoke in consolation round action at the RutlandSecondary Invitational High School Boys Basketball Tournament Saturday in Kelowna.

The Bombers defeated Revelstoke 78-69 to snap a recent three-game slide on the High School Boys Basketball circuit.

Senior Cole Woodward led the Bombers with 18 points while Michael Anderson added 17 to fuel the attack.

LVR held leads of 20-17 and 38-35 at halftime before outscoring Revelstoke 40-34 in the second half.

The Bombers opened the tournament against a top-ranked Okanagan Mission squad, dropping a 93-39 decision Friday.

Malachy Poitras and Woodward each scored six points to lead the Bombers attack.

LVR then lost 84-52 to North Kamloops in consolation round action Saturday.

Poitras scored 11 points to lead the LVR offence with junior forward Leif Beneteau-Kreutz and Woodward adding 10 and nine points, respectively.

Prior to the Okanagan road trip, LVR lost 76-69 to Stanley Humphries Coyotes of Castlegar.

Beneteau-Kreutz was a force for LVR in the paint, scoring 19 points for the visitors.
