On Saturday, the cadets from 561 Nelson Osprey Squadron, Royal Canadian Air Cadets will be having their 70th Annual Ceremonial Review.

The review will be held at the Nelson Airport on June 3rd 2023 starting at 10:30 a.m.

This marks the end of the formal training year for 561.

The cadets will be inspected by Major Marc Macauley from 15 Wing Moose Jaw. During review, the cadets will be presenting several display and presentations. There will also be awards presented to deserving cadets.

Following the review there will be aircraft available to view. Aircraft will include an RCAF CT-156 Harvard II as well as several light aircraft that the cadets have flown in this year.

The CT-156 Harvard II is the aircraft of choice to help new pilots move seamlessly from basic flight training to high-performance jet training.

The Harvard’s performance, advanced cockpit layout and agile handling make it an ideal stepping stone toward advanced training phases. Its fully pressurized cockpit features an electronic flight instrument system and a global positioning system (GPS).

As part of the 70th anniversary, the squadron is hoping to get in contact with former members of the squadron.
