Cooler weather has allowed organizers to get the jump on opening the Ice Rink at Morning Mountain Regional Park to family skating and shinny hockey.

The rink boards were assembled by members of the Selkirk College Carpentry program.

The liner was placed by many volunteers from the Blewett Conservation Society and the region.  The rink was flooded with help from the Blewett Fire Department .

The rink is maintained by Brian Adair and volunteers from the region.

To join the rink maintenance crew please contact blewettsociety@gmail.com.

The rink is open 24/7 and has floodlights.

Adjacent to the rink, the public will find a covered area for picnics, a new washroom facility and a fire pit.

To access, the public can take Granite Road from either end and look for the Morning Mountain Regional Park sign and turn south onto Blewett Skihill Road.

After 1.2 km turn left into the lower parking lot and the rink will be in front of you.

There are opportunities to snowshoe, hike, slide, toboggan and pedal in the Park.
