BC Conservation Officers has recommended hikers stay away from Pulpit Rock trails after reports of two recent interactions with cougars near the upper part of the trail.

A Facebook post on the Friends of Pulpit Rock site said the trail will be closed legally by Recreation Sites and Trails from Pulpit Rock to the Flagpole and the CBC towers.

Friends of Pulpit Rock is asking the public to please respect this closure for both your safety and the cougar’s safety.

The closure is not expected to be for very long.

Friends of Pulpit Rock suggest a hike twice to Pulpit Rock for more exercise or try the new Lyons Bluff trail.
