Nelson Neptune swimmers looked right at home during the recent BC Swim Association Provincial Championships held at the UBC Aquatic Centre in Vancouver.

All nine Neptunes finished with seasonal best times or medals as the Heritage City squad concluded the summer swim season.

Neptune results:

  • Megan Bonikowsky won silver in 100 meter Breaststroke
  • Kallie Badry won silver in the 200 meter Individual Medley
  • The Medley relay team comprised of Keira Badry, Kallie Badry, Sasha Eaton, and Megan Bonikowsky also won a bronze medal.
  • Kootenay Regional team won three gold medals, five silver medals, four bronze medals.

“As the smallest number of swimmers in the Province this was a great result for the Kootenays at one of the largest swim meets in Canada with 1700 swimmers competing,” said a spokesperson for the Nelson Neptune Swim Club.

In 2025, the BCSSA provincial Championship will be in Prince George.

Swimmers looking to join the Nelson Neptune Swim Club should visit the website at www.NelsonNeptunes.teampages.com and look for registration opening the second week of September for an October 1 start.
