Nelson hosts ceremony for International Overdose Awareness Day
There will be a ceremony in Nelson for International Overdose Awareness Day.
“We gather to honour those lives taken by unregulated drug poisoning,” organizers of the event said.
“Please join us for this memorial event dedicated to our lost love ones.”
The event is scheduled for Saturday, August 31st between 4:30-6 p.m. at Cottonwood Falls Park.
Speakers include local Indigenous Elders as well as members of the Nelson Fentanyl Task Force and ANKORS.
There will be information presented about local substance use supports and services along with Naloxone and free food and beverages.
