August 12th, 2024

Nelson, a city located in the heart of the West Kootenay that overlooks Kootenay Lake, has long been known for its beauty and impressive collection of restored heritage buildings and homes.

Over the next few years, the Heritage City will get a new addition:  Hallō Nelson — a unique new development that will offer more than 300 residential units, the finest accommodations, eclectic and exceptional dining, boutique specialty retail and more  — all anchored by The Dodger, the first Troon managed golf course in Canada.

Hallō Properties, the developers behind Hallō Nelson are taking a special approach to this new project, closely collaborating with local Nelson businesses to ensure this project reflects Nelson’s rich history.

“Construction of the first stage of this master plan community will begin this year (2024) which consists of 24 fully furnished, curated townhomes on the first fairway of the only Troon course in Canada, including a 25-meter heated pool, gym, tennis, and art pavilion,” said Farhad Ebrahimi, Chief Executive Officer at Hallō Properties.

“Further stages include residences, boutique lodging, restaurants, retail, outdoor ice skating, and many more attractions and amenities.”

Hallō Nelson will be built on the current Granite Pointe Golf Course in the Rosemont neighbourhood following a purchase agreement between Hallō Properties and the Granite Pointe Golf Society in 2023.

Fitting into the fabric of Nelson

Hallō Properties envisions the development as a home base for those seeking a remarkable setting and a gateway to limitless adventure with a deep respect for the land, environment, and community.

Through their extensive research, exploration of the site and dialogue with the community, the Development team has shaped Hallō Nelson into a vision that harmonizes with Nelson’s character, seamlessly fitting into a fabric that balances tradition with innovation.

These residences, backdropped by the Selkirk Mountains that overlook Kootenay Lake, feature unrivalled design, modern classic furnishings, and meticulously curated details including fine linens, premium porcelain, and crystal glassware with exceptional attention to the best.

“Nelson is the key ingredient,” Ebrahimi explained when asked what attracted the Hallō team to the Southern Interior of BC.

“The town is an irreplaceable anomaly and one-of-a-kind. Now, comes a unique and rich community and amenity plan,” Ebrahimi adds.

The development feature unrivalled design, modern classic furnishings, and meticulously curated details including fine linens, premium porcelain, and crystal glassware with exceptional attention to the best.

Collaborating with local businesses to bring this development to life

During the lead-up to the first shovel hitting the ground, Hallō Nelson has prioritized working with local businesses, including Cover Architecture, Harmony Engineering, KWL Engineers, RJC Engineers, Rocky Point Engineering, Tamarack, and Dave Heath Photography.

Led by Farhad Ebrahimi and Graham Kwan, Development Principal, this project has brought together an exceptional team of partners to realize the dream of creating a world-class destination.

“I am excited to be living my best life in Nelson and grateful for this opportunity,” said Ebrahimi, who plans to take up a part-time residency in the Heritage City and be a part of the community during the construction of Hallō Nelson.

Hallō Nelson is dedicated to giving back to the local community with a thoughtful and impactful Community and Social Responsibility program that will include a Red Seal cookery and butchery training program; a community food program; extensive sustainability and waste management initiatives; and monetary support for a variety of local community programs and organizations.

The Dodger at Hallō Nelson

The current Granite Pointe Golf Course will be transformed into a signature course that will be inspiring to even the novice player.

“We have a quick turnaround time to deliver this new signature golf course,” said Ebrahimi.

“This golf course is a community asset and locals will have special pricing to provide fantastic value to the local residents,” he adds.

Designed by Canadian golf course architect Doug Carrick, the Dodger will be the first Troon-managed golf course in Canada serving the local community while attracting golfers from Canada and beyond.

These residences, backdropped by the Selkirk Mountains and overlook Kootenay Lake, will be built adjacent to the fairways of The Dodger, the first Troon managed golf course in Canada.
