BCWF Fishty-50 jackpot is $175,000 and rising

The B.C. Wildlife Federation Fishty-Fifty jackpot has surged to $175,000 with weeks still to grow. Our last winner took home more than $200,000 tax free.
The BCWF Fishty-Fifty and Spring Lottery supports dozens of habitat and wetland restoration projects across British Columbia, as well as programs that encourage everyone to get outdoors.
The BCWF is employing innovative strategies to mitigate fire and flood risk, including the construction of over 100 Beaver Dam Analogues (BDAs) throughout the province. BDAs are a low-cost approach to wetland restoration and fish habitat enhancement designed to mimic natural wetlands and ecological processes.
“Beaver Dam Analogues are fast becoming an important tool to address drought and low-flow stream habitat for steelhead and other salmonids,” said BCWF Executive Director Jesse Zeman.
BCWF wilderness camps and in-school archery programs benefit more than 6,000 young people each year. We offer outdoor safety education for women, CORE instruction for aspiring hunters, Learn to Hunt and Learn to Fish online courses for members, and much more.
“Our Go Wild campers gain a whole suite of practical skills they can use to lead conservation projects in their home communities,” said BCWF Youth and Education Coordinator Elyssa Weickert. “Our conservation professionals, including the BCWF Wetlands team, empower teens to make a positive difference for the environment.”
The BCWF also funds monitoring for Chronic Wasting Disease and independent scientific research on steelhead trout, mule deer, and cougars.
“The BCWF is committed to boots-on-the-ground habitat restoration, wildlife recovery, and independent research, driven by our core values of stewardship and science-based solutions,” said Zeman.
