'Get Bold and Cold' raises funds for Nelson Special Olympics

Special Olympians from Nelson are inviting the public to show support for the 2024 Polar Plunge for Special Olympics BC (SOBC) at Lakeside Park Beach on (Sunday) March 3.
The “Get Bold and Cold” event is a polar plunge into Kootenay Lake that supports Special Olympics in Nelson.
The event, in partnership with Nelson Police Department, welcomes the public to join other First Responders from the area to raise funds and bring attention to the SOBC volunteers, athletes, and supporters around the province who are working hard to participate in in- person programs.

In 2023, “Get Bold and Cold” participants included the Nelson Police Department team “Cold in the Koots”, Nelson Fire and Rescue, BC Ambulance Services, RDCK Fire Services, Conservation Services, and team Nelson Polar Plunge Sheriffs.
