Team Balfour captures West Kootenay Challenge

Team Balfour came away as the Low Gross winner at the annual West Kootenay Challenge held recently at the Balfour Golf Club.
Nine different golf clubs in the West Kootenay’s participated in the annual West Kootenay Challenge with eight Ladies from each course joining together in team format to represent and compete for Low Gross and Low Net.
Team Kokanee Spring claimed the Low New Team Title in a field of 72 players from clubs all over the West Kootenay region.
Team Balfour included: Roma Crispin, Cathy Leugner, Jackie Little, Jennifer Green, Bernie McMullin, Joan Fiedler, Annette McClelland, and Shelly Bumanis.
The players on Team Kokanee Springs included: Roxy Stevenson, Sharon McDonald, Sharon Bannister, Bente Birkkjaer, Lynne Cranna, Nancy Cathers, Anne Olthof, and Jan Nutting.
The players also reflected on the passing of Balfour’s never-to-be-forgotten team member Mary-Anne Gaschnitz on September 3rd, which proved a definite inspiration that spurred the Balfour team.
