Leafs open exhibition season Friday against Creston
The Nelson Leafs appear to have hit the ground running to start the 2023-24 Kootenay International Junior Hockey League season.
Now that training camp 2023 has concluded, the Nelson Leafs Hockey club can focus on preparation for the upcoming Kootenay International Junior Hockey League.
Under the guidance of head coach Briar McNaney, players were put through four days of camp concluding with the Green/White game Monday afternoon.
The Leafs now return to the ice to prepare for the opening game of the KIJHL exhibition season Friday at the NDCC Arena against the Creston Valley Thunder Cats.
Saturday, Nelson travels to Couer d’Alene, Idaho to face the Spokane Braves before concluding the weekend in Fruitvale for a pre-season tilt against the Beaver Valley Nitehawks.
The exhibition season ends Friday, September 15th with a road game in Creston.
Nelson opens the 2023-24 KIJHL season Friday, September 22 at home against the Revelstoke Grizzlies.
