UPDATED: Missing man located

Creston RCMP confirm that a man reported missing Monday has been found.

Creston RCMP sent out a media release Monday afternoon looking for José Yanill Brancacho Olmos.

Later Monday afternoon, police announced that the 47-year-old man reported missing on August 14, 2023, has been located.

The RCMP thanks the media and public for their assistance.

Creston RCMP are actively looking for José Yanill Brancacho Olmos. His family in Mexico has reported him missing and they believe he was last in the East Kootenay City.

Brancacho Olmos has not been in contact with his family for a few days in Mexico and they are now very concerned for his wellbeing.

José Yanill Brancacho Olmos is described as the following:

  • 47 years old
  • olive skin
  • balding or shaved head with black hair
  • 170 cm (5’6)
  • approximately 68 kg (150 lbs)
  • Mexican

Creston RCMP is requesting the public’s assistance in locating Brancacho Olmos and are just needed to check his wellbeing.
