Nelson Soccer Reps off to Provincials

Nelson Soccer Association is sending a handful of rep teams to provincial championships — the Provincial Girls B Cup beginning Thursday in Kamloops.
Nelson Soccer U15, U16 & U17 squads begin play Thursday at McArthur Park in Kamloops.
The U16 Girls defeated Kootenay East Soccer Rovers 2-1 and 4-0 in the two-game qualifier.
The U15 and U18 squad earned automatic berths into the Provincial B Cup.
Teams play a three-game round robin draw to determine playoff seeds for Sunday’s Medal Round.
Meanwhile, three NSA squads and one Kootenay Regional side travel to Langley July 13-16 to compete in the Les Sinnott Boys Memorial Provincial tournament.
Nelson’s U13, U14 and U17 teams compete in the eight-zone tournament.
NSA U13 Selects advanced to the provincials by stopping KESA Rovers 8-1 and 5-0.
The U14 Selects blasted Kootenay South Storm 10-0 and 8-2 in Trail while the U17 Selects defeated Kootenay South 10-3 and 14-1 in the zone qualifying tournament.
The Kootenay Region Boys team, with players from throughout the zone, competes in the U18 division.
