Atlyn Proctor selected to Provincial Volleyball Team
Atlyn Proctor’s summer just got a lot busier.
The Nelson volleyball player was recently selected to the BC Selects U18 squad for 2023 provincial team season.
Proctor, who plays for the L.V. Rogers Bombers Senior Girls and Kootenay Bombers Club Volleyball teams, earned the spot following a two-day tryout camp at Burnaby’s Harry Jerome Sports Centre in May.
The 6-foot, former middle blocker who has now moved to power hitter playing both left and right side, now travels to Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops for training camp, July 8-18th.
Atlyn Proctor plays for the LVR Bombers and Kootenay Bombers volleyball teams.
Proctor began playing volleyball in Grade 6 at Trafalgar in the volleyball academy as well as the Thunder girls’ teams.
The soon to be 17-year-old Proctor has been playing for the LVR Senior Bombers since Grade 9.
Proctor also played club volleyball for the U14 West Kootenay club team in Grade 8 and the senior team in Grades 9 and 10.
Proctor comes from a volleyball family as Father Greg and Mother Staci both played at the university level and overseas in Switzerland.
Proctor was part of the Kootenay Bombers squad that captured the U18 BC Club Volleyball Championships in April at the Richmond Olympic Oval.
The Kootenay Bombers lost out to Quebec Condors at the 18U Youth Club Volleyball National in May in Calgary.
Team BC will compete at the Canada Cup at the Canada Games Center in St. Catherines, Ontario July 19-23rd.
