UPDATED: Man wanted by RCMP located near Trail
Creston RCMP are happy to report that Chad Meszarosi is now in police custody following a response to a call from the public in the Trail area.
"We would like to thank the public and the Trail RCMP for their assistance and excellent response in locating Meszarosi," said Creston RCMP Detachment Commander S/Sgt. Brandon Buliziuk.
"Our communities can now rest a little easier knowing that this dangerous offender is in custody."
Meszarosi has appeared before the Courts and has been remanded into the custody of Provincial Corrections pending his next appearance.

Creston RCMP search for man facing numerous charges in West Kootenay
RCMP in Creston have issued a media alert to find the whereabouts of 38-year-old Chad Meszarosi, who is wanted for 32 charges.
RCMP said that Meszarosi is facing charges of breach of release order, aggravated assault, assault, firearms offences, uttering threats, driving while prohibited, escape from lawful custody, possessing weapons for dangerous purpose, mischief, forcible confinement, break and enter, and theft.
"The arrest of Chad Meszarosi is a top priority for the Creston RCMP. We have received reports that Meszarosi is frequenting the West Kootenays, including Salmo, Nelway, Fruitvale, Trail, and Nelson,"
says Creston RCMP Detachment Commander S/Sgt. Brandon Buliziuk.
"We have received information that he may be seeking out medical assistance. If he is spotted, or his whereabouts are known, please contact the Creston RCMP or your local detachment immediately. Should you see Meszarosi, do not approach him as he is considered very dangerous to the public."
Chad Meszarosi is described as:
- White man
- 5’9 (175cm)
- Stocky build
- Approximately 180lbs (82 kg)
- Brown hair
- Unshaven
RCMP said that Meszarosi was last spotted in the Fruitvale and Nelway area and is known to travel throughout the BC Interior but has been most active in the Kootenays.
RCMP said if anyone has observed Meszarosi they should not approach but call 911 immediately or contact the Creston RCMP at 250-428-9313 or your local Detachment.
