Nelson Police is asking anyone witnessing an accident at the intersection of Vernon and Baker Streets Saturday to come forward to speak with police.

Nelson Police said on Saturday, March 4, 2023, officers from Nelson Police and BC Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle collision.

Nelson Police said early findings of the investigation revealed that both vehicles were travelling west along Vernon Street when the first vehicle, a white 2010 Subaru Forrester, came to a stop at the intersection.

However, the trailing grey 2017 Kia Sorrento failed to stop and collided with the rear of the Subaru.

“Both vehicles moved from the intersection west onto Baker Street toward Railway Street where the parties exited their vehicles,” Nelson Police said in a media release.

“Nelson Police are seeking any witnesses to the collision and would like to speak with a pedestrian that was passing by and stopped to talk to one of the drivers.”

Anyone with information regarding the collision should please contact the Nelson Police Department at 250-354-3919.
