Public meeting to discuss Kootenay Lake Fishery Recovery

The Ministry of Forests is hosting a public meeting to discuss the Kootenay Lake Fishery Recovery.
The meeting is scheduled for February 21 from 7-9 p.m. at the Balfour Community Hall on Balfour Road.
The meeting will be focused on the history of the kokanee decline in Kootenay Lake, and what steps have been taken to help in their recovery, as well as proposed future actions. The meeting will include an update on the Kootenay Lake Angler Incentive Program
Ministry of Forest fisheries staff will lead the evening presentation as well as answer questions from the public.
