Bombers edge Wolves, bounced by Hawks

The L.V. Rogers Bombers return to the court Tuesday to host Nakusp in West Kootenay High School Boy’s Basketball action at the Hangar.

The Bombers enter the contest following a narrow 66-58 victory over Grand Forks Wolves.

Diego Caprara scored 19 points to lead the Bombers.

“Overall (this was a) great team effort, led defensively by Griffin Phillips who got nine rebounds and two blocks,” said Bomber coach Ryan McKinnon.

Phillips also registered 14 points along with Tomasso Gasiani and Samuel Orasuk.

The win was a bounce-back game for the Bombers who were destroyed earlier in January by J. Lloyd Crowe Hawks 80-56.

19 Points Diego Caprara led the attack with 19 points while Jake Marshall added nine.

Coach McKinnon said Grade 11 forward Kailash Sanjivi, finishing with some terrific offence, scored six points.
