Just when we thought the pandemic couldn’t get any worse some variant named Omicron comes along, jacking up COVID-19 case counts across Canada and around the globe.

As the heads spin everywhere to deal with this latest threat of the coronavirus pandemic, people try to deal with the latest round of restrictions in BC, and the West Kootenay to celebrate the holiday season.

No matter how Christmas is celebrated in 2021, whether it’s another Zoom call or a Face Time chat, a tap on the window at Grandma’s house or spending the holidays with family or your favourite 10 friends, staff at The Nelson Daily would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Let’s cross our fingers, put 2021 in the rear-view mirror and hope 2022 is the year that brings a little normalcy back to the world.

But then, I think we all had those same thoughts last Christmas.

No matter, HAPPY HOLIDAYS from staff at The Nelson Daily online news site.
