She Shreds Mountain Adventures — teaching women the joys of backcountry snowmobiling

The backcountry has become a very active playground in the Kootenays over the past few decades.
Ten years ago, retired professional snowboarder Julie-Ann Chapman created She Shreds Mountain Adventures, the first women-only snowmobile clinic in the world.
Since then, the business has grown to be a full-service snowmobile adventure company operating in the West Kootenays and Pemberton.
Chapman and her team specialize in teaching women to progress their skills in a male dominated sport.
Today, the company’s snowmobile clinics, avalanche courses and occupational training are open to all genders. Safely in the backcountry is paramount for She Shreds.
