Mallard's Team of the Week — Nelson Charity Slopitch Winners

Everyone came away a winner at the annual Nelson Charity Slopitch Tournament held in August at the Lakeside Ball Diamonds.
The Nelson and District Credit Union was the overall winner of the tournament, capturing first place in the A Division.
OK Tire took home the B Division crown while the Tin Ballers won the C Division.
However, the real big winners were the four charity groups that were each presented with $500 donations from the proceeds of the tournament.
This year’s recipients were:
- K.E.R.P.A (Kootenay Emergency Response Physicians Association) – $500
- Nelson Community Food Centre – $500
- Nelson Friends of the Family – $500
- Terry Fox Foundation – $500
