Mallard's Team of the Week — LVR Bombers 2016 AA Soccer Champs

After the L.V. Rogers Bombers capture a pair of BC High School AA Soccer Championships in the late 1990’s, it took a few years for the Heritage City school to return to the top of the podium.
In 2016, the Bombers again shocked the province by capturing the BC High School AA Girl’s Soccer Championship in Campbell River.
The Bombers were pushed the max, but managed to edge Lower Mainland power St. Thomas Moore in shoutout to bring home the first BC High School AA Girl’s Soccer since the Fairview-based school won back-to-back titles in 1997 and 1998.
During COVID-19 Mallard’s Source for sports is taking a walk down memory lane to salute past Team of the Week recipients.
The 2016 LVR Bombers included, coaches Chuck Bennett and Brett Adams, Naomi Perkins, Allie Zondervan, Maddie Sternloff, Darian Voisard, Laurel Halleran, Noa Butterfield, Merissa Dawson, Maya Ida, Megan Tennant, Kyra Burkart, Amy Hodgson, Julia Burkart, Emily Taylor, Hannah Quinn, Emma Wheeldon, Taylor Zimmer, McKenna Bennett, Camille Gebhart and trainer Tanis Bourchier.
