Interior Health coordinates rural, remote COVID-19 vaccine appointments

Interior Health said in a media release Wednesday that the provincial COVID-19 vaccine rollout includes special coordination for rural and remote communities.

Interior Health has already completed targeted clinics for several rural and remote communities and has begun expanding plans more broadly.

Special community clinics planned throughout the Interior for residents 18-year-old plus can be viewed here and include: 

  • Balfour — Balfour Covenant Church, Upper Balfour Road, Thursday, April 15 to Saturday, April 17
  • Crawford Bay — Crawford Bay School, To Be Confirmed
  • Harrop Proctor — Balfour Covenant Church, Upper Balfour Road, Thursday, April 15 to Saturday, April 17
  • Kaslo — J.V. Humphries School, Tuesday, April 13 to Wednesday, April 14
  • Midway — Midway Community Centre, Wednesday April 14 to Thursday, April 15
  • Nakusp — Nakusp Senior Citizen Association, Wednesday, April 21 to Saturday, April 24
  • New Denver — Silverton Memorial Hall, Monday April 19 to Tuesday, April 20
  • Riondel — Crawford Bay School, To Be Confirmed
  • Salmo — Salmo Valley Youth & Community Centre, Monday, April 19 to Thursday, April 22
  • Silverton — Silverton Memorial Hall, Monday April 19 to Tuesday, April 20
  • Slocan Park — Slocan Park Community Hall, Friday, April 23 to Saturday, April 24
  • Winlaw — Slocan Park Community Hall, April 23 to Saturday, April 24

People may be expected to provide identification to prove they reside in the applicable region and should make an appointment in advance by calling 1-877-740-7747, between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. PST, seven days a week.

Interior Health reminds everyone to be vigilant against fraud. Call centres will never ask for financial information, credit card details, or social insurance numbers. 

To register for a COVID-19 vaccine appointment, the public will only be asked for:

  • legal name
  • date of birth
  • postal code
  • personal health number (PHN) from a Care Card or the back of the B.C. driver’s licence or BC services cards, and
  • current contact information, including an email address or a phone number that is regularly checked.
