Environment Canada has issued a Snowfall Warning Thursday for  Highway 3 — Paulson Summit to Kootenay Pass — with total snowfall amounts of 15 to 20 cm expected.

“A frontal system will move across the B.C. interior today,” Environment Canada website said Thursday. “Snow heavy at times will persist through this evening.”

Environment Canada website said rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations with visibility suddenly reduced at times due to heavy snow.

“Weather in the mountains can change suddenly resulting in hazardous driving conditions,” Environment Canada said.
