Rush hour traffic slowed following single-vehicle accident on Nelson interchange

A man was taken to hospital following a single vehicle accident Thursday afternoon during rush hour inside city limits on Highway 3A/6.

The truck was traveling westbound on Highway 3A/6 when the vehicle veered off the interchange highway before crashing through a handrail on a paved path below the highway and ending up resting against a tree.

The occupant suffered non-life-threatening injuries and take to Kootenay Lake Hospital for observation.

Nelson Police was joined by Nelson Fire Rescue & Services and BC Ambulance.

One lane of the highway was closed while officers assessed the accident scene and a tow truck removed the truck from the below the highway.

The westbound outside lane of Highway 3A/6 was used by emergency vehicles following a single vehicle accident Thursday afternoon.
