Nelson Police looking to identify persons of interest in ongoing mischief investigation

Nelson Police said in a media release Saturday the Department is requesting the assistance from the general public to identify two persons of interest in an ongoing mischief investigation. 

On the night of August 14th and into the morning of August 15th police said a male and female were captured on surveillance cameras causing damage to businesses and properties at the Chahko Mika Mall and downtown areas of Nelson. 

That same night “Black Lives Matter” graffiti was found spray painted on numerous businesses in these same areas.

Nelson Police released a description of the two persons of interest:

The male person of interest:

  • male is described as light-skinned Caucasian, average height, thin build, mid 30’s, longer curly brown hair in a ponytail, with a trimmed beard. 
  • man wore khaki pants, and a light grey or khaki short sleeved collared shirt.  He wore a black or dark-coloured backpack.

The female person of interest:

  • woman is described as light-skinned Caucasian, shorter, slim build, late 20’s to early 30’s, with shoulder length dark hair. 
  • she wore dark pants, a tie dyed short sleeved shirt, grey ankle boots, and a pink shawl or scarf and carried a shoulder bag.

Nelson Police would like to identify these persons of interest to further this criminal investigation.
