Search warrant on Vernon Street residence nets NPD drugs, cash

A woman remains in custody after Nelson Police executed a search warrant Thursday (May 7) on a residence in the 800 Block of Vernon Street in Nelson.
Police obtained an arrest and entry warrant for the premises following a lengthy investigation into reports of drug activity at the home.
“A male and female, who are known to police, were arrested inside the home and a significant quantity of suspected street fentanyl, crystal methamphetamine and cash were located upon search,” the NPD media release said.
Police are forwarding charges to crown of Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking against the male and female arrested in the home.
Nelson Police said the female remains in police custody awaiting court appearance while the male has since been released for a future court date.
