Mallards Team of the Week — L.V. Rogers Bombers Field Hockey

For the ninth consecutive season the L.V. Rogers Bombers will compete in the BC High School AA Girl’s Field Hockey Championships at Lambrick Park in Victoria.

The Bombers blasted Princess Margaret of Penticton 5-1 in the Kootenay/Okanagan qualifying round game to advance to the provincial tournament.

Ella Peloso scored twice with singles going to Skyla Short, Marissa Price and Erica Potkins. Keeper Johanna Brochagen was solid in the nets to register the win.

LVR defeated Stanley Humphries of Castlegar in the West Kootenay semi-final 7-0 to advance to meet league winner J. Lloyd Crowe Hawks of Trail.

Skyla Short scored three times to lead the Bombers with singles going to Erica Potkins, Zoe Baxter, Ella Peloso and Paris Miesner.

Brochagen was in goal to register the shutout.

The Bombers lost a 3-0 decision to Crowe in the West Kootenay Final. The result dropped the Bombers into the Kootenay/Okanagan Wild Card match.

The team includes, Sam Chirico, Isabel Curiston, Jessica McLeod, Zoe Baxter, Paris Miesner, Marissa Price, Erica Potkins, Molly Thomson, Ella Peloso, Emma Chirico, Skyla Short, Kierra Tallieur, Lena Felhusen, Ariel Fulgin, Nicola Anderson, Rayne Fulgin, Elissa Centrone, Ashliegh McLean and keeper Johanna Brochagen.

The Bombers are coached by head coach Bruce Walgren and assistants Kelly McQuade and Karen Walgren.
