Just in time for the Festive Season — Lights in Downtown Nelson
Contractors have been busy this week installing the Christmas lights to the Nelson downtown just in time for the festive season.
Crews are currently working in the 300, 400 and 500 blocks of Baker Street, wrapping deciduous trees in lights that will be left on the trees throughout the year.
Staff said the City will also be decorating the two conifers on the 400 block in larger festoon lights, which will only be lit for the holiday season. Contractor said the lighting installation should be completed this week.
Staff said this brings the total budget for downtown improvements to $65,000 which includes the Sculpture program, Mural Festival, ceramic tile work along Hall Street and the downtown holiday lighting.
