Afternoon crash near Taghum Shell sends driver to hospital

One person was taken to hospital following a single-vehicle accident west of Nelson on Highway 3A near Taghum Shell Sunday afternoon.

At approximately 1:30 p.m., a Dodge pick-up truck appeared to locked up its brakes while travelling west on Highway 3A 10 kilometers west of Nelson before crashing into the cement barrier and coming to rest on its roof.

Witnesses of the accident, including off-duty firefighters from Beasley Fire Department, quickly rushed to the aid of the shaken driver, who was removed from the truck.

Beasley Fire Department,  RCMP, BC Ambulance and Nic Sparrow of the Kootenay Emergeny Response Physicians Association attended the accident scene. Traffic was routed around the accident by members of the Beasley Fire Department.
