The Fish & Wildlife Compensation Program is seeking a new board member to help conserve and enhance fish and wildlife in watersheds impacted by BC Hydro dams.

“We are looking for a public representative to join our 10-member Board, for a three-year term,” says FWCP’s Columbia Region Manager, Crystal Klym. “If you have a passion for helping fish and wildlife, and can bring a regional perspective to the table, then we want to hear from you.”

Board members review and approve funding for all FWCP fish and wildlife projects in the region, and support planning and project delivery.

In 2017-2018, the Columbia Region Board approved $5.5 million for 48 fish and wildlife projects to conserve and enhance fish and wildlife in watersheds impacted by BC Hydro dams.

“We have an experienced and knowledgeable Board that works closely with our technical committees to ensure projects we fund are in alignment with our Action Plans and reflect regional Board priorities,” says Board co-chair John Krebs.

Anyone interested in applying or nominating someone else, should contact at 250-352-6881 or email fwcp@bchydro.com.

All applications must be submitted by Thursday, March 29, 2018.

The FWCP is a partnership of First Nations, Public Stakeholders, BC Hydro, the Province of B.C., and Fisheries and Oceans Canada to conserve and enhance fish and wildlife in watersheds impacted by BC Hydro dams.
