LVR's Harry Potter Gala fundraiser for UN Refugee Agency
The L.V. Rogers High School’s Amnesty group will be hosting a Harry Potter Gala to raise money for the UN Refugee Agency on (Saturday) December 10th at the Civic Theatre in Nelson.
The UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) protects the rights and well-being of refugees all over the world.
Their efforts are currently occupied in providing asylum, safety and advocacy to refugees and displaced persons from Syria, Iraq, South Sudan and other war-torn and dangerous situations everywhere. This event is a great way to learn about and raise funds for the UNCHR, while enjoying a magical adventure to the world of Harry Potter!
This year the film shown will be Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. The event will be taking place at the Civic Theatre on Saturday December 10th, with doors opening at 3 p.m. and the movie starting at 4 p.m.
Tickets can be bought at Otter Books for $8-10. Everyone is encouraged to come in costume, there will be door prizes, trivia, and other fun activities for people of ages.
