The Nelson and District Arts Council is proud to present our first annual Dance Educator’s Showcase on (Friday) October 21 at 8 p.m. in the Capitol Theatre.

This showcase will feature teachers and students from The Dance Umbrella, Front Street Dance, Nelson School of Dance, Slava Doval’s Dancefusion, Allegro Dance Theatre, LVR Dance, Tribal Fusion Belly Dance and the Kootenay Dance Beat Society as well as other members of the dance community in Nelson.

This will truly be a showcase of the finest dancers that live in the Nelson and District.

All profits from the ticket sales of the dance showcase will be divided equally between the dance schools and the Arts Council.

The funds will then be turned into bursaries at each school in the area to support dance students that might not otherwise be able to afford dance education.

To compliment this event we are also holding a silent auction. The proceeds from the auction will go to benefit the Arts Council with it’s renewed focus on artist support.

The first silent auction sneak peek thank you goes out to three local Artists — Lindsay Dew, Ron Robertson and Richard Dudley — who have donated incredible pieces to our auction.

Tickets are $16 and can be purchased online at the The Capitol Theatre.
