Bring out your toxic waste — RDCK hosts Household Hazardous Waste Round-up
Bring out your Waste! Bring out your Waste!
Time again to clean out your garden shed, garage and under the kitchen sink to safely rid your home of toxic chemicals such as pesticides, oils, cleaners, and unknown liquids.
The Regional District of Central Kootenay is pleased to announce six upcoming Household Hazardous Waste Round-up events, beginning Saturday in Creston at the Community Complex.
These community events offer free disposal for RDCK residents. No industrial or commercial hazardous waste will be accepted.
Residents may be especially interested in using this opportunity to safely dispose of motor oil products if they do not have a receiving depot nearby.
The RDCK is excited to announce a new initiative this year: the RDCK will partner with local food banks to accept non- perishable food donations at all events.
“This has been a valuable and extremely well-received program for our folks and the feedback has been all positive,” said Ann Bunka, the RDCK’s Joint Resource Recovery Committee Chair.
“We are pleased to continue this important service across the region.”
