Nelson & District Credit Union (NDCU) and Kootenay Savings Credit Union (KSCU) recently collaborated to support the Kootenay & Boundary Regional Food Producers Co-op and the Nelson & Area Elder Abuse Prevention Program.

The two respective local credit unions are excited to form a partnership to support two Kootenay-made initiatives.

The Regional Food Producers Co-op is fundraising to build a centralized storage facility for their member producers.

The Nelson & Area Elder Abuse Prevention (EAPP) is coordinating an initiative to train volunteers to support seniors and families in preparing advanced planning documentation.

Without the support of their credit union’s members, financial support for community-driven initiatives such as these would not be possible.

NDCU was established in 1950 and has grown to over $196 million in assets and serves close to 9,500 members throughout the West Kootenay.
