The date for Nelson residents is Sunday, September 25 at the Nelson Leafs Bottle Depot near Nelson Ford from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Castlegar is also hosting a drop-off at the District Community Complex from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, September 18.

Household hazardous waste is any waste in the home that is considered to be dangerous or that you are unsure of, including any leftover household product that is marked flammable, corrosive, explosive or poison.

Common examples are pesticides, varnishes, paints, cleaners, and batteries.

These products are harmful to humans, animals or the environment if not handled properly and should not be put in the garbage or poured into a drain and they should be stored away from children.
