Police looking for graffiti vandal who tagged more than Nelson 20 businesses

Sergeant Dino Falcone said Nelson Police is investigating a rash of new graffiti in the downtown core that has affected more than 20 businesses.

Falcone said in a media release police believe that the vandalism took place shortly before midnight on Monday (March 14).

“Several business owners reported the graffiti as soon as they located the tags to the Nelson Police Department early (Tuesday) morning,” Falcone explained.
 
“Investigators are extremely pleased with how much video surveillance was provided to police today by the store owners in an attempt to assist police in solving this senseless crime.”

Falcone said some business owners were visibly and understandably upset and are hoping that someone out there will provide police enough evidence to pursue charges of Mischief.
 
Nelson police investigators are hoping that the suspects do the right thing and turn themselves in.

Falcone sad with the public’s assistance and surveillance video, police are hopeful that the persons responsible for these acts will be located as soon as possible.
