Columbia Power has provided $1750 to assist the Friends of Kootenay Lake in the third and final year of their invasive mussel and water quality monitoring program.

The program will provide baseline data on parameters such as turbidity, total and dissolved phosphorus, total nitrogen, e. coli, ammonia and nitrate and will monitor for the presence of zebra and quagga mussels in the lake.

For more information about the program and how to become involved as a volunteer,  visit http://www.friendsofkootenaylake.ca/event/water-quality-and-zebra-mussel-monitoring-outing
