Burns Lake man faces three counts of second degree murder
A 54-year-old Burns Lake resident has been arrested and charged with three counts of second degree murder after three people were found dead Monday in the BC Interior.
RCMP was called to the residence in the 200 block of 5th Ave in Burns Lake Monday (April 27) at 8:25 a.m. after receiving a report of potential foul play.
Officers entered the residence and found three people — one woman and two men — deceased inside. The identities of all three victims are not being released at this time.
Rueben Buhler has now been arrested in connection with the homicides and charged with three counts of second degree murder and is expected to appear in Burns Lake Provincial Court sometime Wednesday (April 29, 2015).
Police believe this to be an isolated incident and there is no further risk to the public.
The North District Major Crime Unit (ND MCU), Prince George Forensic Identification Unit (PG FIS), and members from the North District General Investigative Unit (ND GIS out of Terrace and Prince George) are assisting the Burns lake RCMP in their investigation.
The investigation is still in its very early stages and no other information can be released at this time in order to protect the integrity of the investigation and the upcoming court process.
