BC Coroners Service identifies victims of ice climbing fall
The BC Coroners Service has released the names of the three ice climbers killed in a fall on Joffre Peak near Pemberton on Sunday.
Elena Cernicka, 35, Neil Charles Mackenzie, 31, and Stephanie Grothe, 30, were found dead early Monday in a crevasse on Mount Joffre after apparently falling 600 metres, according to the coroners service.
Cernicka lived in North Vancouver, while Mackenzie, who was originally from Scotland, and Grothe, who was from Germany, lived in Vancouver.
