Two accused in Credit Union hold up back in court
The two people who allegedly held up the Nelson and District Credit Union will be back in court January 28 & 29 to have their preliminary inquires.
This is an initial inquiry that occurs at the demand of an accused wherein a judge screens the proposed criminal charge against the available evidence.
Andrew Stevenson, 34 had his case in court to hear 21 charges in the robberies — including the Kootenay Currency Exchange in Nelson, Nelson and District Credit Union, Kootenay Savings in Castlegar, and Johnny’s Grocery in Robson.
The counts include robbery, possession of a restricted weapon, pointing a firearm, and possession of stolen property over $5,000.
His co-accused, Krista Kalmikoff, 26, is accused in the Nelson robberies and Castlegar break-ins.
A pre-trial conference will be held December 2.
