And the Nelson & District Chamber of Commerce is rolling out the red carpet on another day of Canada Day celebrations July 1 (Tuesday) at Rotary Lakeside Park.
“Canada Day is a major Chamber of Commerce event each year, and a tremendous family oriented celebration of our greater community, with thousands of people attending from all over the region,” Tom Thomson Executive Director of Nelson and District Chamber of Commerce said in a prepared statement.
Thomson said the Chamber has hosted this annual community celebration for many years, and it is with great pride that we honor Canada, with a community wide celebration.
“We start early and end late, but the Chamber is pleased to organize and host this community and regional celebration,” Thomson said.
One of the highlights (see schedule below) each year is the serving of our Canada Day birthday cake, followed with live music and all kinds of fun-filled activities for kids of all ages.
