Mountainside Chamber Music 2014 Summer Programs — Music and Nature in Harmony
Play Music together — listen to inspiring concerts — learn and grow as a string musician — explore nature and relax in the beautiful surrounding mountains and lake during your summer program at Mountainside Chamber Music in Nelson this July.
Mountainside Chamber music programs are geared towards intermediate to advanced level string players including youth (12+) and adults.

Cellists, hone your cello skills during our 3 day intensive CELLO FOCUS program (July 10-12).
Join Cellist, Jeff Faragher and focus on cello technique during daily workshops, master classes, technique clinics, private lessons and evening events. Intermediate Players (adults and youth from age 12 and up ) are encouraged to register. $260 ($240 early bird).
The CHAMBER STRINGS program (July 14-18, 2014) is designed for all string players of intermediate to advanced level (adults and youth from age 12). Groups will be formed in advance of arrival to accommodate skill level. Students will participate in small ensembles (Trios and Quartets) as well as a string Orchestra, with daily rehearsals and coaching.
Master Classes, Clinics and private instruction will be offered throughout the week by our guest clinicians and instructors. Violin and viola instructors, Jeff and Theresa Plotnick from Calgary will bring their teaching and conducting expertise to the program.

Special Registration: Fee for Cello Focus AND Chamber Strings is $500.

Program Director/instructor – Cellist and Conductor, Jeff Faragher has a vibrant career as a performer and teacher across Canada and around the world.
Since moving to the Kootenay region, Jeff has been a community leader in music. As principal cellist of the Symphony of the Kootenay’s Jeff quickly made himself known throughout interior BC both as a group player and a soloist.
He frequently tours the area bringing innovative programming to communities of all sizes. His reputation as an energetic and captivating performer brought the Board of the Symphony of the Kootenay’s to invite Jeff to take the helm of this fine orchestra.
As a teacher, his main focus is learning through positive and fun experiences. Jeff is the director of the Mountainside Chamber Music program which runs throughout the year here in Nelson, and has seen great success as his students have learned, progressed and always leave the studio with a smile on their faces.
This promises to be an exciting and rewarding experience for string players while learning in the heart of the kootenays.
