Ashcroft man faces murder charges

A 27-year-old Ashcroft man faces murder charges after a body was found at a residence Monday morning.
 
Monday (June 2) shortly after 9:30 am, while investigating a disturbance, the Ashcroft RCMP discovered a body at a residence on the 600 block of Cedar Street.

A person of interest was taken into custody and has since been charged with murder.
 
Shane Takeshi Gyoba, 27, of Ashcroft was remanded into custody for second degree murder. He is scheduled to appear in Kamloops Provincial Court this afternoon.
 
The name of the deceased is not being released at this time.
